SUGGESTED ITINERARY
Day 1 : Arrive in Luang Prabang on flight ? (Client’s own tickets)

Upon arrival at the Luang Prabang airport and after clearing immigration and customs, meet with your guide with a welcome signboard marked “The Time Journeys’s LOGO & your name” Then your tour guide will transfer to your hotel in centre. The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore city.

Day 2: Luang Prabang City Tour

After breakfast, the guide pick you up and bring you for visiting National museum,  we visit the impressive stupa of Wat Visoun and the shrine of Wat Aham, Wat Mai; visit Wat Xieng Thong, we then climb up to the top of Phousi Mount for an enjoyable exploration of the sacred, gilded stupa as well as a beautiful sunset view of the city and the Mekong River. From there, we explore Street Night Market, where you can find the lovely collection and handmade textile by local and hill tribe people surrounding Luang Prabang. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Day 3: Luang Prabang – Local Style Mekong Riverboat Experience – Pak Ou Buddha Caves

After breakfast Visit the National Museum, once a king’s palace.  Displayed inside is a lovely collection of personal artifacts of the royal family, including photos, musical instruments, and many gifts received from the dignitaries of foreign countries. Begin a Mekong Riverboat trip with your guide on the mighty Mekong River to visit the famous & sacred Pak Ou Buddha Caves.   These caves, overlooking the confluence of the Mekong & Ou Rivers from on high, have been home to many thousands of Buddha images that were placed here by local people since 16th century, when King Setthathirat found the caves and declared them a holy spot. On return  Visit Por Sa Paper Handicraft & textile area at Ban Xang Khong. Overnight in Luang Prabang.

Pak Ou Buddha Caves
Day 4: Luang Prabang - Kuang Sii Fall - Siem Reap

After breakfast drive out of town 30KM to the beautiful Kuang Sii Fall, where you can swim, relax, soft trek to the top of the fall. On return short stop at Black Hmong Village, where hill tribe hand-made handicraft as souvenirs for visitors pass by. Then transfer to airport for a flight to Siem Reap. Arrive in Siem Reap, pick you up and transfer you to your hotel. Free time.

Kuang Sii Fall
Day 5: Siem Reap - Angkor Temple Highlighted

Breakfast at your hotel, the guide pick you up and transfer you to visit the picturesque Ta Prohm that had nearly disappeared into the jungle and remains overgrown, an oddly haunting and exotic scene. The magnificent roots of a tree, pushing between the huge stone blocks of the temple in a sort of embrace, evoke feelings that you may remember forever. Back to Hotel for breakfast. Do an Elephant riding from the South Gate of Angkor Thom to the Bayon Temple, the riding starts at 08.00 and it takes about 15 minutes to 20 minutes. Then explore the great Bayon temple and its surroundings of the complex including the Baphou, Elephant Terraces, Lipper King Terrace and Royal Palace Enclosure area and visit a ruin in Angkor Area of Preah Khan temple, built in 12th century by King Jayavarman VII and it is the same style to Ta Prom Temple. Late afternoon, visit the world’s 7th heritage temple by UNESCO, Angkor Wat temple.

Angkor Wat
Day 6 : Siem Reap – Angkor Outlying Temples

After your breakfast at your hotel. 7am, drive to the rural outskirt 35km from Angkor area to visit the smallest, but magnificent, Banteay Srei built in the 10th Century and dedicated to Shiva. The temple was the birthplace of Khmer classical style architecture and the bas-relief work is the best example of Khmer classical art remaining. The pink sandstone structure bears a series of striking and beautiful sculptures, lintels, pediments and friezes. Khmers say the temple must have been carved by women for the details are too fine for the hands of a man. Drive on to Chau Srei Vibol which is a small charming temple on top of a hill which hardly sees any visitors – very few non-locals have heard of it, and it is set just far enough away from the main tourist routes.

Lunch is hosted at the local family, a great chance to chat with the survivor former village chief during Khmer Rouge regime. Continue to the ancient Khmer civilization site of Hariharalaya which flourished in the late 9th and earlier 10th centuries. These are the earliest temples in the Angkor area and are referred to the Rolous group we visit the main one called Bakhong temple.

Banteay Srei
Day 7: Siem Reap – Tonle Sap Lake – Ho Chi Minh City

Breakfast at your hotel. Drive to southern party of Siem Reap to embark on a short cruise on Tonle Sap Lake, Cambodia’s biggest natural water body. The experience is wonderful as we pass by floating village, friendly children in small boats and fishermen at work and sunset at Phnom Krom. Then transfer you to the airport for a flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City, the guide pick you up and transfer you to your hotel. Free time.

Tone Sap Lake
Day 8: Ho Chi Minh City – Cu Chi Tunnels

Breakfast at your hotel, the guide pick you up and transfer you for visiting Cu Chi Tunnels. After visiting Cu Chi Tunnels, transfer back to Ho Chi Minh for visiting the Reunification Palace, followed by exploring Notre Dame Cathedral, the historic Central Post Office & XQ embroidery workshop, China Town. End the trip with a visit to Ben Thanh Market, time for shopping.

City Hall
Day 9 : Ho Chi Minh City - Mekong Delta – Ben Tre – Danang - Hoian

Breakfast at your hotel. The guide pick you up and transfer you to Ben Tre.  Arrive at Ham Luong dock, you will take a boat and then cruise along Ham Luong River, a tributary to the Mekong River. The cool breeze from the river and lush tropical islands along its banks will immediately get you excited to explore all the great things ahead.

Arrive and visit various local workplaces to find many wonderful examples of how local people use ageless techniques to create their crafts, including activated charcoal, dried coconut, handy coconut husk brooms, and many family businesses using coir, or coconut fiber, to create amazing art. Cruise around the village roads by “Xe Lôi”, the local vehicle, which is a kind of motorized rickshaw. Kayak through the natural canals to get a unique experience of the peaceful beauty of the Mekong River as well as the rural life there. Having lunch at a local host house.

After lunch, you will have some time for relaxing. Then transfer you direct to Tan Son Nhat airport for a flight to Danang. Arrive in Danang, the guide pick you up and transfer you to your hotel.

Day 10: Hoian Tour

Breakfast at your hotel a walking tour of Hoi An’s ancient town centre will take you back in time to when its was a major trading port in Asia. Visit old shophouses, the 400 year-old Japanese Bridge, a Chinese communal hall and the colorful market in this well-preserved town. Then free time for relaxing on An Bang Beach.

Hoian Old Quarter
Day 11: Hoian – Danang - Hue

Breakfast at your hotel, the guide pick you up and transfer you to Hue. On the way to Hue, stop over for visiting Cham Museum in Danang. Passing Hai Van Pass for visiting Lang Co Beach. Arrive in Hue, check in hotel. Free time.

Day 12: Hue city tour - Hanoi

Start your day with a visit to the Imperial Citadel where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945.  After exploring the ruins of this wonderful monument take a cyclo through the ‘Old City’ to Tinh Tam Lake where the Emperors used to come to relax. This afternoon, visit Mu Pagoda overlooking the Perfume River End the day at Khai Dinh’s Tomb which boasts a traditional Vietnamese design with aEuropean touch, making it unique from the other tombs in Hue. Then transfer to airport for a flight to Hanoi. Arrive in Hanoi, the guide pick you up and transfer you to your hotel. Then transfer you to airport for a flight to Hanoi. Arrive in Hanoi, pick you up and transfer to hotel. Free time for relaxing on beach.

Thien Mu Pagoda
Day 13: Hanoi – Halong Bay

After breakfast at your hotel, drive through the fertile farmlands of the Red River Delta to Halong City.

12.30 Arrive at office, Halong City. Transferred by tender to Cruise – enjoy welcome drink. Receive cruise briefing, check into cabins and begin your cruise.

13.15 – 13.30 Having lunch – delicious Vietnamese set menu (Massage service is available after lunch and throughout the cruise).

15:00 Head to Bai Tu Long Bay, pass the towns of Hon Gai and Cam Pha, Oan Lagoon, Mat Quy (Monster Head) and Am Tich (Teapot) Islets and Vung Vieng fishing village.

Visit the Vung Vieng fishing village by local rowing boat (01 hour) or Kayak into the village then return to the vessel for your leisure or join one of the following optional activities: Sunbathing, traditional massage, swimming etc.

17.00 Drop anchor in the calm water surrounded by islets near Hang Trong.

18:30 Happy Hour (sunset party). Vietnamese cooking demonstration on boat.

19.15 Sumptuous Set-dinner onboard.

21.00 Relaxing on your cabin or join the on board activities: film entertainment, light music for dancing in the dining room (please book in advance with your tour guide), board games and playing cards are available, and massage services are available. Passengers may also try their luck at squid fishing from the boat.

Happy Hour! Buy two drink – get one free (wine by the bottle excluded). Overnight aboard.

Halong Bay
Day 14 : Halong Bay - Hanoi

06.15 Starting your day with Tai Chi on the Sundeck while complimentary tea & coffee are served.

07.00 Have breakfast in dining room.

08.00 Explore the Surprise Cave (Sung Sot).

08:15 Transfer by tender to the Surprise Cave. Walk up about 100 steps to the cave entrance and tour the cave for approximately 45 minutes. Walk down about 100 steps and return to the boat.

10:00 Upon return to the boat you will have 30 minutes to freshen up and finish packing. Please remove all of your belongings from the cabins, you may leave heavy luggage outside of the cabins (staff will transfer directly to the pier).

10:30 Enjoy Set Menu for lunch in the dining room. We will settle bills after breakfast. Relax on the sundeck or in the dining room enjoying the bay scenery as we approach the pier.

11.30 – 12.00 Arrive at Hon Gai Habour. Transfer by tender to the pier, relax inside the Office while waiting for return transportation and transfer back to Hanoi.

Kayaking in Halong Bay
Day 15 : Hanoi city tour full day - Sapa

The capital of Vietnam, a city that celebrated 1.000 years in 2010 has countless fascinating cultural and historic sites and our days’ tour will visit the highlights.  See the grand and solemn mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh (viewed from outside; closed Mon and Fri and from Oct-Nov), the ‘icon of Hanoi’ – The OnePillar Pagoda, the beautiful Temple of Literature, West Lake’s Tran Quoc temple and Quan Thanh pagoda as well as the fascinating Ethnology Museum, the bustling Old Quarter and then  water puppetry show. Then free time.

8.00 pm – Asia TourAdvisor’s tour guide come to pick you up from your hotel then transfer to Ha Noi Railway Station and catch the night train to Lao Cai (overnight on the train, the cabin with 4 berths, soft sleeper and air-conditioning)., Arrive Lao Cai 5:30 or 6:00am.

Day 16 : Sapa – Ma Tra – Ta Phin Village

The train arrives at around 6:00 am. Look for the “TTJ’s Logo & Your Name” sign when you exit the train station, as our guide will pick you up there and transfer to the former hill station of Sapa. In the terraced hills and mountains of this area, the expansive green landscape is enlivened by the colors of its hill tribe population – flashes of shining silver jewelry from the necks and wrists of indigo-clad H’mong and the scarlet hues of the turbans worn by the Red Dao can be seen. It is here you will find hands stained with color from fabric dyes and shades of blue, red and green intricately embroidered and stitched into jackets, waistcoats, pants, skirts, caps, purses and leggings.

After having breakfast at local restaurant, Walking through the town for about 20 minutes before turning to a dirt road to Ma Tra Village, where inhabited by Black H’mong ethic. Continue trekking up the village and getting through paddies fields will lead you to an ancient Catholic abbey, built by French colonists. Walk 2 km more to reach Ta Phin Village for exploring the daily life of Red Dzao. Here you have a good choices to buy woven and textile brocades, which is made by ethic people and having picnic lunch before exploring village and Ta Phin Cave and small hamlet of Black H’mong people. At the end of day, return to Sapa. Rest of the afternoonand evening at leisure.

Day 17: Sapa – Lao Chai – Ta Van Village - Hanoi

Following a hotel breakfast, meet your guide in the morning and depart on a second trek from the town of Sapa to Golden Stream valley. Today’s trekking offers more stunning views of rice terraces and gardens as well as Mt Fansipan, whose summit rises 10,312 feet (3,143 meters) above sea level.

After crossing a suspension bridge, marvel at the breathtaking scenery as you continue through the Golden Stream valley, stopping at Lao Chai village for lunch. After your meal, follow your guide on a walk through this village where Black Hmong people reside, and continue on to Ta Van village, home to the Dzay tribe. This part of the hike is relatively easy, though the trail can be quite slippery if it rains, so good footwear is recommended. You’ll visit with some local families and learn about their daily lifestyle and fascinating culture, before departing to the main road to meet up with your driver and return to Sapa.

A shower is available at the hotel, followed by an afternoon free to explore the town on your own. In the evening, The car will pick you up for the night train back to Hanoi. Arrive at Lao Cai train station and take the night train back to Hanoi.

Day 18: Departure from Hanoi

Breakfast at your hotel. Your time will be your own until your private car and driver arrives to take you to the airport for your departure flight. Your journey with The Time Journeys is now complete…
