VIETNAM NATIONAL PARKS TOUR – 16 DAYS

Summary: 

On this 16 days tour you will have the chance to explore the wonders of Vietnam, in all of its vibrant diversity and color. And exploring flora and fauna in 4 amazing National Park along Vietnam: Cuc Phuong National Park, Cat Ba National Park, Bach Ma and Nam Cat Tien National Park.
Begin in fascinating capital of Hanoi, scenic Halong Bay for a romantic overnight on cruise. Next you’ll travel to the ancient royal city of Hue, full of history and timeworn temples. From there you’ll head to old Saigon where you’ll have an opportunity to explore the war tunnels of Cu Chi, drift down the mighty Mekong River, and immerse yourself in the vibrant heart of the south.

SUGGESTED ITINERARY
Day 1 : Arrive in Hanoi on flight ??? (Client’s own tickets)

Upon arrival at the Noi Bai airport in Hanoi and after clearing immigration and customs, meet with your guide with a welcome signboard marked “The Time Journeys’s LOGO & your name. Then your tour guide will transfer to your hotel in centre. The rest of the day is at your leisure to explore city.

Day 2 : Hanoi fully day city tour

Today, your journey will to see the capital of Vietnam, a city that celebrated 1.000 years in 2010 has countless fascinating cultural and historic sites and our days’ tour will visit the highlights.  See the grand and solemn mausoleum of Ho Chi Minh (viewed from outside; closed Mon and Fri and from Oct-Nov), the ‘icon of Hanoi’ – The One Pillar Pagoda, the beautiful Temple of Literature, West Lake’s Tran Quoc temple and Quan Thanh pagoda as well as the fascinating Ethnology Museum. Enjoy lunch at local restaurant.

Follow your guide, you will weave through the bustling Old Quarter’s 36 streets. All named for the producs historically sold here.  After visiting Hoan Kiem Lake and Ngoc Son Temple, you will enjoy a water puppet show for a look at traditional performance art in Vietnam before back to your hotel. Free time for visiting in the evening.

Day 3 : Hanoi – Ninh Binh – Cuc Phuong National Park

08:00 am: The local guide pick you up at your hotel and transfer you to Ninh Binh (98km) to visit Cuc Phuong National Park. You will visit the Endangered Primate Rescue Centre where you will learn about the important work being done to help protect the endangered species of the park. After lunch, trek to the Park Centre, on the way visit the Cave of Early Man ( had over 7000 year), then you’ll start on a long trek through the forest to learn about the diverse flora and fauna of the park. You’ll also make stops at Cho Chi, the oldest tree in the forest, a number of picturesque streams and waterfalls. Then trek back to the car. Take a car to Ninh binh City for a night.

Day 4 : Ninh Binh – Trang An – Hoa Lu

Breakfast at your hotel. The guide pick you and transfer you to visit Trang An tourist attraction. Arrive in Trang An, take boat trip to visit cave complex: Sang Cave, Toi Cave, Ba Giot Cave, Nau Ruou in mystery and wildness, see scenery of mountain and rivers. Trang An is considered as  Ha Long on the land. After lunch visit, Hoa Lu – the Ancient Royal capital of Viet Nam. We will visit Dinh king temple and Le king temple in the 10th century, finding out the heroic histories of this two Kings in Chinese Wars. At the end of day, transfer you back to Hanoi. Drop you off at your hotel.

Day 5: Hanoi – Halong Bay

Breakfast at your hotel. The shut bus pick you up in Hanoi by 8:00am and drive through the verdant Red River Delta to make our way to the famous UNESCO World Heritage site, Halong Bay. You’ll board a luxury junk ship for an overnight cruise – while you relax on-board you can marvel at the incredible limestone karsts that jut out of the sea and the thousands of jungle-covered islands that seem to float on the waves. The turquoise waters of the Gulf of Tonkin swirl around hidden grottoes and ancient caves to create an enchanting, timeless world.

We’ll serve you a fresh seafood lunch while you sit back and relax as you enjoy the incredible view with a drink in your hand. We’ll take you to a traditional fishing village where the locals have created an entire town on the decks of their boats, then you can explore Cave before returning to the cruise for cocktails, canapés, and a spectacular sunset. End your day with a romantic, candlelit dinner.

Day 6 : Halong Bay – Cat Ba island

Begin the day with a Tai Chi class on deck in the early morning mist or just admire the beautiful scenery as the sun rises over the azure waters. Choose between an excursion to a secluded island with a sandy beach for a swim or join the chef for a cooking demonstration to learn more about Vietnamese cuisine. Enjoy a leisurely brunch while your junk cruises Halong Bay, passing islets and caves as you make your way back to the dock.

Say goodbye to the crew at main harbor and  you will take a speed boat to Cat Ba Island. Arrive in Cat Ba island, The car pick you up and transfer to you national park. You will trek through the mountain rain forest and valleys. Visit Frog Lake and wild animals. Have lunch in Viet Hai village and visit the small fishing village. There are 200  people are living here with a bamboo or wooden house. Walk around to visit the village, you will meet some friendly local people and know their life and culture here. Then transfer you back to your hotel. Free time for relaxing or swimming.

Day 7: Cat Ba island – Hanoi - Hue

Breakfast at your hotel. Free time for relaxing or swimming on beach. Then the guide pick you up and bring you to visit local market. Then transfer you to harbor for a speed boat to Hai Phong. Arrive in Hai Phong, the car pick you up and transfer you direct to Noi Bai airport for a flight to Hue. Arrive in Hue, the guide pick you up and transfer you to your hotel. Free time

Day 8 : Hue City Tour

Start your day by floating down the peaceful Perfume River by boat for visiting a visit Thien Mu Pagoda overlooking the Perfume River and Minh Mang’s Tomb. After having lunch at local restaurant, you will visit the Imperial Citadel where the Nguyen Dynasty ruled between 1802 and 1945. Next to visit Khai Dinh’s Tomb which boasts a traditional Vietnamese design with European touch, making it unique from the other tombs in Hue. Finally, visit Trang Tien Bridge and Dong Ba Market before returning to your hotel.

Day 9 : Hue – Bach Ma National Park

Breakfast at your hotel, the local guide pick you up at your hotel and transfer to Bach Ma National Park. Arrive in Bach Ma, the guide introduce you about the Park. You will  trekking on the trail to Rhododendron Waterfall. After lunch, trek to the Lakes, it’s is a good chance for you to swim in the fresh pools, and see many beautiful water falls. Then free time. Have dinner in the Park and enjoy bonfire activities and drink traditional wine. Stay overnight at hotel in Bach Ma National Park.

Day 10 : Bach Ma National Park - Hue

In the early morning, trek to the summit of a mountain to enjoy an amazing sunrise and to see the wonderful panoramic views of mountains, lagoons and the East Sea. Then transfer back to hotel for having breakfast. Then you will have time for relaxing before transfer you to Lang Co beach for swimming and to enjoy seafood. After lunch, transfer you back to Hue. Free time in the evening.

Day 11 : Hue – Ho Chi Minh City

Breakfast at your hotel, free time until transfer to Danang airport for a flight to Ho Chi Minh City. Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City, pick you up and transfer you to hotel. Free time.

Saigon is a city that never sleeps and offers a plethora of great restaurants and bars catering to all tastes, from street food vendors to the rooftop bar at the Rex Hotel, where international correspondents covered the Vietnam War and where the U.S. military attaché’s press briefing was held daily and dubbed the “Five O’clock Follies”. Whatever your interests, be sure to ask your guide for personal recommendations.

Day 12 : Ho Chi Minh City – Nam Cat Tien National Park

After breakfast at your hotel. The guide pick you up at your hotel and leave Ho Chi Minh City for Nam Cat Tien National Park. Travel northern city long Highway 1 then branching off National Highway 20 that leads us to a former volcanic crater, known as Lava tubes. Crossing the Dong Nai River to enter the Cat Tien National Park enables visitors to begin their wildlife experience. After about 3, 5 hours we arrive at the Nam Cat Tien National Park, we will be met by local guide then check in and followed by lunch. In the afternoon we start walking 8km along the ecologic route: sites of Lagerstroemia Ovalfolia (BangLang), Tetrameles nudiflora (Tung), Cycas rumphii (Thien Tue), Ancistrolandus Tectorius (Trung quan), Afzelia cyclocarpa (Go). Then we transfer back to the center for having dinner. At night around 8.00 pm our Jeep will transfer us to Ta Lai buffer zone for animal spotting (view animals at night).

Day 13 : Nam Cat Tien National Park – Ho Chi Minh City

Breakfast at your hotel and then take a jeep inside the park to the junction (9km), where you turn off the main route for 5km trekking to Crocodile lake station. A short break at the lake watching tower, then trek to the main road again. Jeep picks up and transfers back to the park center. Check out hotel. After lunch, take a ferry crossing the river then heading back to Ho Chi Minh City by vehicle. Arrive in Ho Chi Minh City, drop you off at your hotel.

Day 14 : Ho Chi Minh City – Mekong Delta – Ben Tre

Breakfast at your hotel. The guide pick you up and transfer you to Ben Tre.  Arrive at Ham Luong dock, you will take a boat and then cruise along Ham Luong River, a tributary to the Mekong River. The cool breeze from the river and lush tropical islands along its banks will immediately get you excited to explore all the great things ahead.

Arrive and visit various local workplaces to find many wonderful examples of how local people use ageless techniques to create their crafts, including activated charcoal, dried coconut, handy coconut husk brooms, and many family businesses using coir, or coconut fiber, to create amazing art. Cruise around the village roads by “Xe Lôi”, the local vehicle, which is a kind of motorized rickshaw. Kayak through the natural canals to get a unique experience of the peaceful beauty of the Mekong River as well as the rural life there. Having lunch at a local host house.

After lunch, you will have some time for relaxing before continuing with more activities- cycling around the village, or treating yourself to a relaxing time. Then transfer you back to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 15 : Ho Chi Minh City – Cu Chi Tunnels

Breakfast at your hotel, drive to the outskirt of Saigon to visit the Cu Chi Tunnels, located in an area known in the American War in Vietnam as the Iron Triangle, the remains of a real bloody battlefield, which is a complex network of tunnels built during the long years of wars. The walking visit of the tunnels is specially led by one of the former VCs who used to live and fight in Cu Chi during the wars, giving you an authentic look at the former Vietnam War to understand how the guerrillas lived and fought by visiting different bunkers for weapon, guard, Commander, meeting, kitchen, dinning, etc. After lunch in Cu Chi, driver back to Ho Chi Minh City for visiting the Post Office & Notre Dame Cathedral circa 1880, a highlight tour of the former Presidential Palace, once headquarters for the Saigon Government during the “Vietnam War” and the War Remnant Museum to have an overall picture of the most recent wars in country. Afterwards, continue the drive to visit Ben Thanh Market which is a big marketplace in the downtown area of the city and is one of the earliest surviving structures in Saigon since the French occupation. With over 3000 stalls in the market, there is nothing you cannot find in this oldest and busiest market in Vietnam.

Day 16 : Ho Chi Minh City Departure

Having breakfast at your hotel. Your time will be your own until pick you up and take you to the airport for your flight to next destination. Your journey with The Time Journeys is now complete…
